It was another sunshine filled weekend in Western PA and Eastern OH as Del Rougeux Jr. and the Rougeux Motorsports Team completed another three event racing weekend. The immaculate 2007X Bicknell Chassis made its debut on the track Friday evening at the Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, PA and was fast from the start. Del started on the pole of the 25-lap feature event and swapped the lead with fellow competitor, Dave Murdick, several times. It appeared as though Del was headed to his second feature win of the season when another competitor slid in front of the Primetime Limousine/Vinyl Graphics Unlimited 20D as Del was exiting turn two on the final lap. Del was forced to hit the brakes and unfortunately has to settle for a second place finish. Following this week’s competition Del currently sits in second place in the Lernerville Speedway DIRTcar Modified Point Standings, just two points behind the divisional leader Kevin Bolland. On Saturday the team headed to the Sharon Speedway for another action packed racing event. Unfortunately Del’s designated pill puller, Trish Riffe, was a little rusty as she pulled a number 60 pill resulting in a fifth place start in the evening’s second Modified heat race. Del was able to finish the event in the third position. The Speedway uses a computer generated feature position draw, which once again found Del starting mid field; this week it was the tenth position. Del quickly worked his way up to the third position but was unable to catch the top two cars. It was another great run for the Rougeux Motorsports Team!! The Tri-City Speedway was the final stop of the weekend for Del and the Rougeux Motorsports Team. Del started sixth in the evening’s first DIRTcar Modified heat race and went on to capture the heat race victory in convincing manner! An “invert 8” re-draw for the feature event found Del starting in the seventh position of the 20-lap feature event. Del battled several fellow competitors throughout the event before finishing a very respectable fourth when the checkered flag flew. “The 2007X Bicknell Chassis is extremely comfortable and the new Precision Engine Service motor was running great,” stated Del. “I was able to fill the new car out in its initial voyage at each of the three speedways we run on a weekly basis and my dad and I will work on fine tuning the setup for the upcoming weekend. In addition, I want to say ‘Thank You’ to Bruce Harwood and Pat MacAulay of Bilstein Shocks for their assistance this past weekend. The Rougeux Motorsports Team greatly appreciates the assistance and support that Bilstein provides and we look forward to strengthening this relationship in the future.” For additional information on Bilstein Shocks you can visit their website at www.bilstein.com. “I also need to thank Joe Secka of JMS ProPhoto for all of the great photos he provides,” continued Del. “The Rougeux Motorsports Team greatly enjoys working with Joe and his partner Mike Gbur and we look forward to posting more of his superior photos on the website in the near future.” The upcoming weekend will once again find the Rougeux Motorsports Team competing at the Lernerville, Sharon and Tri-City Speedways.
