Update for week of April, 19th 2009 |
|
The weekend was nice weekend for racing; we started at Brewerton Speedway on Friday night, The track caught me off guard and after a decent run in the heat race and passing several cars, we started at the back of the feature and finished 18th. The track went slick quickly in the feature and I had not made enough changes to the car to adapt to the changing track conditions. Saturday was off to Canandaigua Speedway; we prepared the car and did our routine maintenance, started in the rear of the heat race there also. We did not qualify and had to run the consolation race in order to make the feature, and we finished 2nd. Which was good enough to make the show and start 22nd, I made changes this time to get around on the slick surface better, the car was better than the previous night. We worked our way up to 17th by the end of 35 laps. Which is slightly different compared to 25 lap features that we run in western PA. It’s a slight learning curve racing these New York Tracks, but I think it will be a big help to our whole program. This coming weekend, we will be racing at Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, PA and Canandaigua Speedway in New York. Also I was pleased to hear that the BRP Modified Tour has announced another tour date of May 23rd at Pittsburgh Pennsylvania Motor Speedway. This should be a great show; it has been a long time since the modifieds have raced at this track. Until next week, hope everyone has a great week; hope to see everyone soon at the racetrack. Later, Del
