news for weekend of 8/3/09
Friday night was a washout, around 4 o’clock Lernerville speedway got hit with a down pour and the races were rained out for the evening. Saturday we headed north to Canandaigua Speedway, we started the feature in 17th position after finishing 6th in the heat race. From the start we were good, the car was very comfortable, I had worked my way up to 9th. Around the half way point, my left rear tire grew around an inch; this reduced my stagger and made the car tight on entry and through the whole corner. I was able to hold on for an 11th place finish.
Sunday, we headed back to PA, to Tri City Speedway. We started the feature event in 6th position after finishing 3rd in our heat race. We shot out into 2nd place right from the start of the race; the track was very rough in turns 3& 4. I was working different lines through this corner and the car was slamming the ruts really hard. I settled the right rear torsion bar while running through that end of the track. It changed the handling of the car and I had to settle for 2nd, wasn’t able to make a charge at the leader.
Overall it was a decent weekend, this weekend we will be racing at Lernerville Speedway and Canandaigua Speedway has a Super DIRTcar series event on Saturday night. We are all hoping the rains will stay away and let us get a full weekend of racing in. Until next week, hope to see you at a track soon.
Later,
