Friday May 5th was an excellent night for racing; we won our heat race at Lernerville Speedway and started 6th in the feature. Within several laps we had moved into second position and set sail after the leader. On a restart on lap 21, I took the outside and grabbed the lead into turn number one, as I entered the corner; contact was made with the left side of my car spinning me up the track. I was able to start at the rear of the field, and work my way back up to 7th. Saturday May 6th at Sharon Speedway was rained out, Friday May 14th we were back to Lernerville Speedway, started the night out with another heat race win. Lady luck was on our side with a pole starting position for the feature. I jumped out to a nice lead from the start, on lap 4 the caution flag flew, and we were going to restart double file. The track conditions were rough through the corners and slicked off on the straight aways, so basically you had to be prepared for all track conditions while racing. The restart found Mr. Jim Weller starting on my outside, as we took the green we raced to turn number one, and this was only the beginning. We raced 21 laps side by side, swapping the lead every corner. Into lap traffic it was even more interesting, we crossed lines and set each other up for each corner, and this was all happening while handling the cars through rough and torn up corners in the racetrack. We never touched once, it was an epic battle, as we left turn four for the checkered flag, I committed to the bottom line and my line was blocked by a lap car, we crossed the line nearly side by side while right on the bumper of the lap car. I finished 2nd to Mr. Weller, and I have to honestly say that was an amazing race, people were still talking about it the next day. Saturday May 15th we headed to Sharon Speedway, with chatter from people about the prior nights race, we prepared the car for the evenings events. We started 5th in our heat race, and finished 2nd. Winning the last event at Sharon gave us a 12th place starting position in the feature. This was not my best race of the year, I had missed on setting the car up for the track conditions and we came home with an 8th place finish. This coming week is the BRP Modified Tour opener at Lernerville Speedway and Saturday night we will be at Sharon Speedway. Later, Del
